Czech Post

The Czech Post was established on 1 January 1993. It is a state-owned enterprise founded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic acting on behalf of the Czech state.

With its 3,385 branches and 34,374 employees, the Czech Post ranks among the major employers in the country. It processes 7.18 millions, or a total of 444 tons of consignments per day. Czech Post's mission is to be a trustworthy provider of quality services in the area of mediating information, payments and goods via both traditional and electronic means. It provides universal postal services in the most efficient way possible. The Post also uses a range of further activities in order to be able to react to the four key trends affecting its market and competitive environment, i.e. new technologies; transformation in the way of communication due to the booming internet services; changing customers' needs, and liberalisation of postal services. The Czech Post has been a major partner of the government in the area of electronic communications, where it acts as the data mailbox system administrator and operates Ministry of the Interior's data networks.
